Episode 633: My Monthly PR Process: What I Actually Do Every Month to Stay Visible Without Social Media (Part 4 of 4)

ai and automation business strategy marketing without social media podcast Jul 27, 2026

This is the closing episode of the PR and AI Visibility series we've run every Monday this summer. If you caught the episodes with Amanda, KJ, and Gloria, you already have the expert perspectives. This one is different. It's the actual system I run every single month behind the scenes in Anti-Social School to get found and get leads, no theory, just the process.

How to build a monthly PR and visibility plan without posting every day

My plan runs on four pillars, and I rank them in the order they actually pay off. First is partnerships and community speaking: one partnership a month and one to two paid or invited speaking spots a quarter, because speaking inside a community is the highest ROI activity I do. Second is podcast placements, both pitching myself as a guest and booking the right guests for our show, aiming for one to two guest spots on other shows a month. Third is the community corner in our weekly newsletter, where I intentionally connect the partnerships and podcast spots back to our list. Fourth is SEO and GEO: blog posts that link back to real episodes and real communities, so search engines and AI tools read us as an actual authority instead of a page written to check a box.

None of this requires daily social media. It requires a plan. Community speaking is the fastest path to new leads, podcast appearances and partnerships are close behind, and SEO and GEO is slower to build but has the highest long-term payoff, since the blog posts I wrote a year ago are still the ones driving the most traffic today. Email ties it together and closes it out. 71% of our sales come from email every month, and 40% of our leads come from podcast guest appearances specifically, which is why this isn't a nice-to-have for me, it's a core growth strategy.

Tune in to hear:

  • Why Holly aims for one partnership a month and one to two community speaking spots a quarter
  • What actually counts as a partnership for Holly, and why it's rarely a cold reach-out
  • How Holly finds and pitches podcasts to guest on, including the tool she uses to research shows by size, topic, and fit
  • What makes Holly say yes or no to a podcast guest pitch for her own show
  • Why the community corner in her newsletter is a strategic tool, not just a feel-good update
  • How SEO and GEO blog posts compound over time, and why last year's posts are still driving the most traffic
  • The real numbers behind the system: 40% of leads from podcast guest appearances and 71% of sales from email
  • Where to start if you can only build one layer of this plan right now

Frequently asked questions

What are the four pillars of Holly's monthly PR and visibility plan?

The four pillars are partnerships and community speaking, podcast placements, the newsletter community corner, and SEO and GEO. Partnerships and community speaking come first because they bring the fastest ROI. Podcast placements build trust with a wider audience, the community corner amplifies both of those inside the newsletter, and SEO and GEO documents the whole process so search engines and AI tools can find it later.

How many partnerships and speaking spots should I aim for each month?

Holly's own target is one partnership a month and one to two community speaking spots a quarter, which works out to roughly one speaking spot a month with an occasional break. She treats speaking inside a community, live or on Zoom, as the single highest-return activity she does, so if you only have time for one thing, this is it. A partnership can be a newsletter mention, a guest spot, a collaborative email, or a community training, as long as it's a two-way relationship, not just an email swap.

How does Holly find podcasts to pitch herself as a guest on?

She starts with relationships first, people she already knows and shows she already listens to, before pitching anyone cold. She also uses a research tool called Rephonic to find shows by audience size, topic, and fit. Her goal is one to two guest appearances on other podcasts a month, because podcast guest appearances account for 40% of her leads and she treats that as a core growth strategy, not a bonus.

Is community speaking or podcast guesting the faster way to grow leads?

Community speaking is the faster of the two. When Holly looks at where her buyers actually came from, speaking inside communities produces the biggest and fastest return, with podcast appearances and partnerships close behind in second place. SEO and GEO is the slowest to build of the four pillars, but she says it has the highest long-term leverage because old blog posts keep driving traffic long after they're published. Her advice is to pick whichever layer fits your current capacity and start there instead of trying to run all four at once.
