I almost changed the title of this post and then it happened again. I woke up early, per usual, (can't seem to sleep in these days) and two of my clients messaged me with almost the exact same words:
 
"No one is doing anything so I created a new freebie to try to get more people on my list."
 
My first response was that I love a good freebie, but my second reaction was, what is the intention behind it?
 

In today's fast-paced online environment, standing out in the crowd requires more than just offering freebies—it demands creating an unforgettable experience. We all know that when we download something, we will probably get pitched something else. So if you are going to create something free, why not make it an experience? And strategically think about where it is going to go. In this blog post, we dive into the art of creating compelling free resources that not only attract but also leave a lasting impression.

From strategic intentions to micro-topic focus, let's explore three key trends that can transform your client attraction game.

What's Old is New Again: Leveraging Your End Offer 

In a world saturated with content, the key is not always creating something new but repackaging what you already have. Analyze your main offering, whether it's a product, service, or B2B solution. Identify the burning questions your audience has, and extract a micro-topic that serves as an entry point for a freebie.

Example: You want to launch a membership about getting into the press and being more visible in the wellness space.
 
Entry point: A 5-step system to create a press kit specifically for wellness experts

The example of Natalie Trice illustrates the effectiveness of this strategy—offering a 5-step system for creating a press kit tailored to wellness experts as a lead magnet. Why does this work?

It specifically answers the biggest pain point her clients ask for - How do I get more visible? And they can do it in a super short time frame, complete with a BIG win at the end.
 
It's SUPER specific. It focuses on one person (wellness experts getting into the press), one outcome (they will have a complete press kit at the end), and one ask (we aren't trying to sell a million things at the end). If you are a go-getter, you can be super successful with this press kit at the end. It has everything you need to do it yourself. If you want more support, the membership is an easy yes because it has the next step to become visible.

Teeny Tiny Micro Topics: Niche Down for Impact 

In a world where attention spans are shrinking, specificity is the key to capturing your audience's interest. Break down broader subjects into tiny micro-topics, like organic in-person networking within the realm of client attraction. 

I teach a lot of ways to increase your client attraction system (aka visibility plan) including everything from content repurposing to using a SEO strategy to income stacking and organic grassroots marketing. So much so that we have a whole 8-week program on it which is Anti-Social School.

By being hyper-specific, you appeal directly to your audience, increasing the likelihood of engagement. This strategy is particularly effective in today's era of short attention spans, where grabbing attention in the first few seconds is crucial.

Make It an Experience: Crafting Memorable First Impressions

You don't need more freebies or offers. You need ONE that is going to WOW people. In the age of automation, simply offering PDFs or Canva templates won't cut it. Elevate your free resources by turning them into memorable experiences. Consider adding videos, posing questions, or sharing stories that resonate with your audience.

There is nothing better than an amazing first impression.

The goal is to create a first impression that not only stands out but also builds trust. We all know that we will be added to an email sequence so why not be super specific and call it out?

I probably get more responses on this email than any other automated sequences we have. Call out what you are doing, why you are doing it, and give them what you said you were going to.

By making your free resources genuinely valuable, you pave the way for organic interest and client trust.

You don't need to create more. You need to take what you have an make it amazing. Let it do the work for you. The heavy lifting. And when you do and deliver exceptional value, the results come easy.
