How to Use Themed Days to Stick to Your ScheduleMay 26, 2021
Sometimes you need more than time blocking to keep your head straight. And if you are like me, switching between your 9-5, mom life, AND running a business, sometimes you need just one thing to focus on. Ok truly, life, in general, is easier when you have one thing to focus on.
This is where THEMED days come into play for me.
The reason why I know these work is because I started implementing them last summer and haven’t looked back.
If you want to scale.
If you want more white space.
If you want more time freedom.
If you want more time to focus on your strategy and your clients….
This ONE simple trick will help so much.
The first step that you need to take is one that I chat about so much. And that is to write down everything you do in a week for your business.
Then, take the next step and figure out how to group them.
As an example:
- Every Thursday morning for me is “finance” day. So my business hours in the morning focus on finances, forecasting, etc.
- Every Friday is Client Day. So 90% of the time all my 1:1 client calls are on Friday. This is because it is more flexible for me in my 9-5 that day and I can use the week to prepare materials for them.
- Working backward in the week, Wednesdays are podcast days. (i.e. interviews can only be scheduled on Wednesdays) and then the secret sauce of the entire method is Monday is my CEO day.
Not convinced yet? Let’s pretend you are overwhelmed (it happens weekly for me). I wake up and think. AH, what day is it? Ohhh Monday. The day where I can slow down and catch up.
My mind is at ease. I feel focused. And more in control. (and I actually got to enjoy my weekend).
