Ohhh this blog post might already be my favorite because it is one of the questions I get asked the most.
"How do you actually scale?"
As in you started your business, made a few bucks, and might even have a few products or services at this point, but how do you actually scale and grow?
Put another way, what got you your first few sales is not going to be the same process that will help you scale to multiple 6-figures. So what do you actually do? There are 3 questions I like to ask to unlock you to your next level and open up the capacity for growth.
How to Open Your Capacity For Growth
The first question I ask all my clients is are you moving and taking action? And doing so daily? This looks different for everyone, but daily actions could be something like this: Are you showing up for yourself first? As in growing into that next level leader you need to be to run a 6-7 figure business? The crazy thing behind the scenes here is the more I have grown monetarily, the more personal development work I have done. As in making more money does not mean more work. It means more aligned action. How are you yourself growing? What are you investing in for yourself? What are you reading? Are you taking care of yourself? Do you have full days off of social media? Do you have time to be creative? The key here is you are actually emulating the actions that your best client would. Are you actually practicing what you preach?
And while this isn't a "business" step necessary, it is probably the most important one. How are you serving yourself? And how are you truly practicing what you preach? Are you showing up the way that your best, ideal client would? Are you taking the steps to grow daily?
The Next Question to Ask Yourself
The second question I ask when it comes to scaling is where are your actions aligned? At the beginning of a business, we kind of all just throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. But once some of it sticks and you want to scale, you have to really think about whether this is something you could do long term. Do I enjoy this? Are my clients getting the results I want them to get? And the most important part, are you excited about offering the thing? The program, the product, the service. You have to be SOOO excited. Are you excited about what you are doing? Is there anything that is misaligned?
Examples of this could be you love the program you created but you hate creating the back-end resources. This is where the creativity comes in. How do you fix that? Can you outsource? Can you hire a team to do it? Can you change how you deliver the program? Are there parts of it you can automate so that when you do show up, it is the piece you enjoy? Or can you do more in person? Again, you will see that so far our scaling questions are more about alignment and energy than about strategy. You have to enjoy what you are doing to be able to scale it. Otherwise, you will hit a wall. Guaranteed.
The Third Question to Fast Track Your Growth
The third question I like to ask is, where do you see yourself in 3 to 10 years? And can you keep doing what you are doing and getting the same results? I like to think of this as the base of your business. You built your base, have activities that you are doing every day, and sales that you are making. Can you sustain your base and the activities you are doing so that you can add on more? Does your base support you enough to add on more or have the capacity to create something new?

This is where I like to have my clients write down everything they are doing with the #1 goal to create capacity. Every great leader has a team, a support squad. How can you outsource efficiently? And build a process that is going to support the 3-5-10-year vision?
