Creating Funnels that Work on Autopilot

We are on part 3 of 3 on the blog of your Strategy Made Simple series. In part one, we chatted about your income stacking strategy (aka how to make back an investment into your business and actually make money). In part two we talked about the power of copy and how it is the strategy that most people don’t pay attention to, but also how it can save you hours on social media. Today, we are wrapping up the series with funnels and how to create funnels that work on autopilot.

How Funnels Changed My Business

This might be my favorite topic ever. When I first started my business I was overwhelmed with all the tasks that came with running an actual business. So when I heard someone chat about a funnel and how it automated things, I was like, sign me up! 

Here are some ways we use funnels currently: 

1. When someone signs up for a course or free resource, we have 5-10 series that help them use the resource, and going back to last week’s blog, we spent time on copy that helps them get to know me and our business.
   
   
2. Launches (aka a new product or service) so that emails and follow-ups are sent automatically. This way during a launch I don’t have to sit at my computer all day.
   
   
3. We have set up funnels for payment and support help. Miss a payment, it triggers a funnel to fix it. Need help, click a button and a funnel of a series of emails helps point you in the right direction.
   
   
4. Onboarding. When you sign up for the mastermind or 1:1 VIP Day, we created funnels to help you get onboarded so that the time you have with me doesn’t include random setup things. But instead actual strategy!

You can see how powerful they can be, but also they work on autopilot.

Funnels Work on Autopilot

You can have sales funnels, nurture funnels, contract funnels, and more! One of my favorite resources for all things funnels is Richard Brunson. And Click Funnels. A little fun fact is that I actually have studied funnels and the power of funnels more than any other piece of functionality in business because they are instant time savers, but also when set up correctly can help you make money on autopilot.

Aaron Orendorff of Click Funnels states - No matter what you sell, getting prospective customers to buy doesn’t happen in an instant.

Instead, the sales process unfolds in stages (the sales funnel): Warming up cold prospects to the idea of spending their hard-earned cash on your products and priming them for purchases in the future.

You might be like, well that is great holly, but where do I start? 

How to Get Started with Funnels in Your Business

After you have created your income strategy (that triangle we chat about in part 1, and then refined your messaging, part 2), it's time to automate. 

There are 6 steps to follow. 

1. Create a landing page. The landing page is often the first opportunity for a prospect to learn about your business and its products and services. ...
2. Offer something valuable. ...
3. Nurture the prospect. ...
4. Close the deal. ...
5. Keep the process going. ...
6. Optimize your sales funnel.

Now, that sounds super simple, but there are a lot of pieces and parts to it. The very first sales funnel I started was actually for a starter kit I created. And it still exists today. 

Think of it this way: Automation is solving the problem once and then setting it on autopilot.

Because this is a complicated strategy, the other quote I love is: funnels aren’t easy to build, but they are simple to build. And you only have to build one successful one to change your life. 

Pretty powerful, right?
